According to the ministry of home affairs, the government will not be forced into bringing in new laws in light of the recent mob lynching incidents. On Wednesday, minister of state of home affairs, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir  said that it doesn’t matter if lynching is being done by a single person or by a group, the current laws are more than enough to deal with the cases and that there is no need to implement new laws. Ahir answered the question on whether or not there should be new laws because of mob lynching during a session in Rajya Sabha. The questions were being put up by the Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who said that mob lynching is becoming a trend in the country. He asked whether the central government is planning to change the laws to deal with the mob lynching being fueled on the basis of cow protection.
